Los Otates [$] 

In order to enjoy real Mexican tacos, you have to go to a real Mexican taqueria (taco shop). Los Otates, a well-known establishment on Cozumel, serves some of the best tacos in town, along with different varieties of fresh salsas. Besides the usual steak, chicken, and pork tacos, Los Otates is well know for its tacos de lengua (tongue tacos) Delicious! You’ll love the prices, too!

El Restaurante del Museo [$$]

Located above the Museum of Cozumel, this is the perfect outdoor café with a seaside view. Excellent for breakfast or lunch, they serve typical mexican and American style breakfasts, and the view will take your breath away. Tour the museum on your way out and see some local art.

Location: Ave Rafael Melgar between Calle 4 Norte and Calle 6 Norte

La Choza [$$] 

Another great Mexican restaurant offers a more upscale and traditions take on Mexican food. Here you can try some local favorites like sopa azteca (tortilla soup), pollo con mole (chicken mole) and chile relleno (stuffed peppers). The margaritas are tasty, too!

Camilo’s Seafood [$$] 

Camilo’s serves up yummy seafood plates such as lobster and fish fillets and some tasty seafood tacos and sandwiches. Try the camaron a la mexicana (Mexican shrimp), another local favorite.

Kinta Mexican Bistro [$$$] 

Kinta’s cuisine will blow you away. The chef serves up traditional Mexican favorites with a contemporary twist. The garden is a delightful setting to enjoy one of the best new restaurants in Cozumel.

Especias [$$$] 

Especias, “Spices” in English, is another local favorite, perfect for when you need a break from Mexican food. The restaurant serves up Argentine food, including delicious empanadas, steaks, fish and nightly specials. Enjoy tasty sangria surrounded by the modern décor inside, or the view from the outside balcony.
