Fire destroys local restaurant

A fire broke out early Sunday morning leaving local restaurant La Choza devastated. While the definite cause of the fire remains unknown, it was likely caused by an electrical short, which quickly spread and burned the palapa roof of the restaurant. The damage was vast and representatives of the restaurant say it may take months before the popular restaurant will reopen again in its original location. However, La Choza has reopened at a temporary location, so regular clients and tourists can continue to enjoy the delicious food and drink that made it so famous. The restaurant is temporarily located in downtown Cozumel at Ave. 15 between Calle 2 Norte and Calle 4 Norte.
